“Giant Tiger has been proud to support Operation Santa Claus since 2014 and we are excited to be part of this important program again this year,” said Cindy-Lynn Steele, Senior Vice President of Strategy and Marketing, Giant Tiger Stores Limited. “Operation Santa Claus is helping to bring a little home to those who cannot be with their families this Christmas season. We are honored to help our communities come together to bring these special gifts to deployed members of the Canadian Armed Forces. “

Operation Santa Claus began in 1992 as a group of Montreal Women sent vacation packages to their spouses who were involved in peace missions. The packages consisted of cards and greetings from family and friends around the world Canada. Donations were also collected from local companies and included with the gifts. Within a short period of time, the program had expanded across the board Canada. To date, Operation Santa Claus has sent over 50,000 care packages worldwide, thanks to the generosity of the Canadians. Each box is carefully packed with the comforts of home, such as cozy basics, delicious treats, and self-care products to help spread the Christmas cheer, among other things.
