Atletico Madrid striker Luis Suarez will be back in action this weekend after the league club confirmed on Thursday that the Uruguayan returned a negative Covid-19 test.
The 33-year-old tested positive for coronavirus in the international match last month, missing his country’s win against Colombia and losing to Brazil, as well as Atleti’s last four games.
“Luis Suarez will attend first-team group training at Wanda de Majadahonda Sports City tomorrow after testing negative in the official LaLiga PCR test.” confirmed the association in an official statement.

“After overcoming Covid-19 and following all health protocols, the Uruguayan will rejoin the group’s discipline and will be under Simeone’s command again.”
Suarez joined Atleti in the last transfer window from Barcelona and has scored five goals in six La Liga games for the Rojiblancos.
Diego Simeone’s side, who played against Valladolid on Saturday before traveling to Salzburg for a blatant Champions League game in the group stage on Wednesday, are currently second in the LaLiga with 23 points, one point behind leaders Real Sociedad with two games in hand.
