News: Ethiopian Defense Forces urge former forces to register and assist the national army in defending the country

Addis Ababa, November 05, 2021 – The Ethiopian National Defense Force (ENDF) has called on former members of the Ethiopian armed forces to report to the National Army and use their knowledge and experience to help thwart the ongoing attack on the destruction of the county.
Accordingly, the ENDF announced that former members of the armed forces who are physically fit, including general health, mental readiness, knowledge and experience, register between November 10 and November 24, 2021.
General requirements for registering former armed members include: Members who have accepted the Constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia; those who believe in the sovereignty and unity of the people and are ready to serve with perseverance; those who are free from partisanship towards a political party; those who will not be prosecuted under criminal or civil law; those who are physically fit and ready to work across the country; those who had leadership experience as infantry officers, battalion command, and more; those who have been instructors at a military training center and can provide evidence of their experience; those who were members of the mechanized and team equipment divisions.
Other requirements include age limits. Accordingly, according to the ENDF, line officers should not be older than 60 years; while senior officers above the rank of lieutenant should not be older than 64 years.
The ENDF urged those in Addis Ababa to register in their respective sub-towns and those in regional states to register in person in their respective security and militia offices of the woredas and kebeles. HOW
