Prince Harry eventually had to wear his military uniform as he and his family continue to pay their respects to him Queen Elizabeth the second – a change reportedly coming from the king himself.
Harry was in a full military costume along with his brother on Saturday Prince William — who was also in uniform — as well as 6 other grandchildren of QE2, including Princess Annes children, Prince Andrew‘s daughters and Prince Edward‘s boys…who are 18 and 14.
Will was the head of the Queen’s coffin, and Harry was at the foot… with the other grandchildren covering the edges. They stood in silence for 15 minutes during a special vigil just for her.
It’s interesting that Harry wears this…remember he was in civilian clothes earlier in the week when they took his Grandmother’s coffin to lie in state, while Will was in uniform. Now, after a reported change of heart through King Charleshe also had to wear military clothes.
Incidentally, he’s not the only royal (who was out and about) to be given a special pass for the occasion… Prince Andrew was also given permission to wear his military uniform during a vigil held among the Queen’s children on Friday, again … supposedly at the behest of the king.
Unclear why Charles freaked out… but word has it that decision was entirely his, with Harry apparently not asking – and just rolling the punches as they continue to mourn.
