Soles for the Harvest 5K coming to Hamilton in November

I want to take part in a 5K and also support those who are hungry in New Jersey. I have the 5K for you.

Soles for the Harvest 5K takes place on November 6th at Veteran’s Park in Hamilton. Racers can run 3 miles, 3 miles, or run the 1 mile fun walk.

The Soles for the Harvest 5K is designed to help people with food insecurity in New Jersey. Racers are asked to bring canned food for a local pantry.

Registration ends on October 30th. Register now if you are interested.

I did a diet program about 6 years ago and was able to lose about 25 pounds. After losing weight, I told my husband, who was my boyfriend at the time, that I wanted to run 3 miles.

I didn’t care how fast I ran it, I just wanted to run and finish it without stopping. We competed in PST’s Freedom 5K that year and not only did I finish the race without a break, but even finished third in my age group.

It was a great achievement for me that I hope to achieve again. I plan to get back in top shape and run again. Hopefully soon.

The hunger crisis is omnipresent, but it makes me incredibly clear how many people cannot afford to feed their families around here.

5Ks that benefit such a great cause are the ones I love to be a part of. By doing this 5K, it means people struggling with food insecurity will get the help they need. That sounds amazing to me.
